WILMINGTON, MA — In a battle of division foes, the WHS Varsity Baseball team defeated Burlington, 6-2, on Monday, May 1 at Scanlon Field.
Junior Chris Grecco picked up his third win of the season, throwing another complete game. He recorded 7 strikeouts and gave up 2 unearned runs, scattering 6 hits and surrendering just 2 walks.
Tom Worob lead the game off for the Wildcats with a single up the middle and stole second base. After walks to Dan Gracia and Chris Grecco, Jared Aucoin came to the plate with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Aucoin delivered a clutch hit, scoring both Worob and Gracia. The Wildcats’ offense exploded in the 5th inning, scoring 4 runs and sending 10 batters to the plate.
Jared Aucoin (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Tom Worob (2-for-4, run scored) and Rob DuCharme (2-for-3, RBI) led the Wildcat offensive. Gracia, Grecco and Beatrice each chipped in with a hit.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats (6-1) next play Arlington High on Wednesday, May 3 at 3:45pm at Spy Pond Field in Arlington.
