POLICE LOG for April 28: Bad Car Crash On Main St.; Motorcycle Crash; Turtle Rescued

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, April 28, 2017:

  • A resident reported the yellow flashing school sign at Woburn Street & High Street does not appear to be functioning properly. (8:01am)
  • Police conducted distracting driving enforcement on Main Street. (8:59am)
  • Two vehicles were involved in a crash in front of Sonic on Main Street. Both vehicles towed. Airbag deployed. One driver was transported to hospital by fire department, complaining of chest pains. (9:01am)
  • Police removed a small snapping turtle from the roadway on Woburn Street. (2:02pm)
  • A blue Subaru hit a school bus, with no children in it, on Salem Street and did not stop. There was a small scuff to the bus’s back bumper. (2:41pm)
  • A caller reported a red Ram pick up truck driving with a dog unsecured in the bed of the truck. The Animal Control Officer visited driver’s home and spoke with family member, who will speak with driver. (3:19pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a small brush fire on Concord Street. (5:41pm)
  • An Avalon Drive caller reported two burn holes in his vehicle’s tires. (7:00pm)
  • Driver of a black 1999 Yamaha motorcycle crashed at Grove Avenue and Lake Street.  Driver transported to hospital. Motorcycle towed. Damage done to directional pole. (10:50pm)
