I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to those 1,481 voters for returning me back to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen on election day. Every single vote I received was earned by myself, alone. I didn’t rely on the Town Hall Machine or the political endorsements and support of every elected official, as well as former officials, the big name families and more. I earned my seat the old school way–I worked for it. I campaigned. I talked with people. I returned phone calls. I met them at their homes. I even listened to people’s concerns as I was grocery shopping in Market Basket.
For the people who didn’t vote for me, I want to be your selectman too. I’ll go further than that–I want you to call me. I’m more than happy to meet with you and a group of your neighbors for any concerns you have that may affect your quality of life now or in the future. Let’s put our heads together and see what we can figure out. My number is 978-657-5495. If I don’t pick up, please leave a message. I return all phone calls.
To the four members of the Wilmington Board of Selectmen and three former board members (you know who you are) who campaigned so hard against me in support of my opponent, all I have to say is: I’M BAAAAACK!
On a personal note, I want to thank my wife, Danielle, directly. Honey, I know being married to me can be a challenge sometimes and while I know full well that this isn’t your cup of tea, you live my politics every day and handle it all with grace. I know I can be a handful, but at the end of the day, and you’ve done it many times, you reassure me that I’m doing the right thing and you just keep on supporting me no matter what. You are my voice of reason and have that special something that helps me stay calm and focused when things get rough in this tumultuous arena. Danielle, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done, and everything you continue to do to make life for me and our kids wonderful. I love you more than words could ever express and I just don’t know what I’d do without you by my side and God willing, I’ll never have to find out.
