POLICE LOG for April 27: Lowell Man Arrested; Drug Paraphernalia Found; Missing Hiker

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, April 27, 2017:

  • A caller reported a friend went hiking in the woods in Wilmington and hasn’t returned home. Caller stated she received a text saying the hiker was lost. Cell phone is going to voicemail. Police pinged cell phone to Arlington. Caller called back to report hiker was found safe in Arlington. (12:52am)
  • Officers assisted at the Special Olympics event at Wilmington High School. (8:40am)
  • A Federal Street caller reported a large coyote in her yard. (8:41am)
  • Police issued 3 parking citations in the MBTA parking lot on Main Street. (12:08pm)
  • Speedway employee reported 2 white males were smoking marijuana in a SUV near the dumpster. Police responded. Men were just smoking cigarettes. Men were moved along. (3:16pm)
  • A Houghton Road caller reported a deceased turkey behind her house on conservation land. (4:09pm)
  • A caller found a bag and a needle on Shawsheen Avenue. Police retrieved items for destruction. (7:40pm)
  • Jamie Garcia (Lowell, 21) was arrested on three outstanding warrants at K1 Speed on Fordham Road. (9:38pm)
  • K1 employee reported he was threatened by a customer in regard to the earlier arrest. Customer stated he would “see him in the parking lot.” Police stood-by while employees lost. Threatening customer did not return. (10:14pm)
