SCHOOL COMMITTEE RACE: Largenton Makes Her Closing Argument

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Apple recently provided all six Wilmington School Committee candidates with one last opportunity to convince Wilmington Apple readers to support them at the ballot box this Saturday, April 22.

Below is the response from candidate Amy Largenton.

QUESTION: Make your closing argument. Why should Wilmington voters cast one of their two votes for you?

ANSWER:

Wilmington is certainly fortunate to have six candidates running for school committee. I think it demonstrates that that the public is eager for change and they are more aware of what the school committee encompasses.

Certainly many of my opponents have impressive backgrounds in the field of education. But I feel that it would be beneficial to incorporate someone with a different background. My focus would be on communication with parents, with the public and on bringing a fresh perspective. I feel the average parent does not process information in the same way that a veteran of the educational field does. Being a substitute teacher in town, I am able to see what transpires on a daily basis in our schools. I want to be the voice of every parent.

If elected I am confident my skill set would complement the other committee members well. Please consider me for one of your two votes.
