WHS SOFTBALL: Wildcats Win Again Behind Moran’s 16K, 2-Hit Shutout

WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball team just notched its season win in as many games, blowing out Ipswich High, 9-0, on Monday, April 17 at Town Park.

Wilmington sophomore Ally Moran pitched another complete game gem, recording 16 strikeouts without surrendering a run. In fact, Moran’s performance was so dominant, she only allowed 2 hits and neither left the infield.

Wilmington senior Shannon Horgan, team captain, led the rout, going 4-from-4 at the plate, including a 2-run homer that broke the game open in the fourth inning.  Jen Dovidio also shined, reaching base three times, with two runs scored and two steals. Aliyah Tang stepped up with two RBI.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats (2-0) next play Belmont High on Wednesday, April 19 at 10am at Town Park in Wilmington.
