10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (April 15, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, April 15, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be sunny in Wilmington with a high near 68. Light southwest wind increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the morning.

#2) The Wilmington Recreation Department’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Wilmington children ages 6 and under will be held on the Wilmington Town Common at 2pm sharp.  If you are late, you will miss all the fun! Candy filled eggs will be placed for children to collect.  Don’t forget to bring a basket or bag to hold your eggs.

#3) The 9th Annual Wilmington Little League Parade, from the Town Common to Rotary Park, will step off at 9:30am from the Fourth of July Building.  Players and coaches will proceed down Church Street, ending at the Park.  After the Opening Day Ceremonies and Game, the Wilmington Kiwanis will be serving hot dogs to players, coaches and spectators.  The Wilmington Minutemen and American Legion Post 136 are scheduled to participate in the festivities.

#4) Wilmington School Committee candidate Jenn Bryson is holding a ‘Meet & Greet’ event at Panera Bread (228 Main Street) from 8am to 9:30am. “This is a great opportunity to meet Jenn and ask questions/voice any concerns. Please stop in and enjoy a coffee & bagel.”

#5) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs:

  • Drop-In Baby Times (9:30am-10:15am)
  • Dads & Donuts (10:30am-11:30am)
  • SAT Practice Test (12:30pm-5pm)

#6) Two Wilmington High School teams are in action:

  • 10:00 am (H) Girls Varsity Lacrosse (Revere High School) @ Wilmington High School
  • 5:30pm (H) Girls JV Lacrosse (Revere High School)

#7) There is a Yard Sale at 65 Glen Road from 10am to 3pm. Large Moving Sale. Curtains, Toys, Housewares, Bicycle, Automotive Accessories, Furniture, Electronics, Sporting Goods and Memorabilia, Dishes, Porcelain China, Glassware, Huge Gas Grill, and much more.

#9) The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.
