LETTER TO THE EDITOR: O’Connell Endorses Bryson For School Committee

Dear Wilmington Residents,

We have an opportunity on Saturday, April 22nd to elect a new and worthy candidate, Jennifer Bryson, to the Wilmington School Committee.

Recently I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jenn as a person and as an active Wilmington resident. During this time I have continued to learn more about Jenn’s dedication to her family and to her community. My interactions with Jenn have been very positive and I have observed first hand Jenn’s commitment and enthusiasm towards public education and making a difference. It is clearly evident that Jenn is intelligent, hardworking and a team player. She truly wants what is best for the Town of Wilmington.

Jenn’s candidacy is focused on ensuring that every student of the Wilmington Public Schools receives an exemplary education. If elected, I believe Jenn’s impressive professional experience will assist her in this regard as she has been in the field of education for many years. Jenn taught for ten years in the Chelsea school system before moving on to her current position which is working to prepare elementary education teachers at Boston University’s School of Education. In addition, Jenn supervises and coaches pre-service and in-service teachers in all subjects with literacy as her main focus. Also, Jenn has spent extensive time teaching literacy courses at Boston University while also tutoring readers at BU’s reading clinic.

If elected to the Wilmington School Committee, I believe Jenn will continue to be a strong advocate for children and public education. This includes Jenn’s focus on supporting a seamless K-12 educational experience for all students centered around quality learning for all ages and skill levels; driving high academic standards with proven results; providing industry leading technology within our schools; providing professional development for all teachers; and engaging in strategic opportunities to partner with the Wilmington community and local businesses for the overall benefit of our students. Also, I believe Jenn will hit the ground running on day one and will be a great asset to the Wilmington School Committee and the residents of the Town of Wilmington now and in the future.

In closing, please join me on Saturday, April 22nd in voting to elect a very deserving candidate, Jennifer Bryson, to the Wilmington School Committee. Jenn truly is the right choice! Thank you.

Judith L. O’Connell
