It is my pleasure to write a letter of endorsement for Jennifer (Jenn) Bryson. I met Jenn eight years ago when our daughters attended pre-school together. Throughout the past eight years, I have had the opportunity to get to know Jenn and I am honored to call her a friend. When thinking about Jenn, the words dependable, loyal, honest, hard-working, respectful and determined come to mind. She and I worked together as girl scout leaders for four years. We always made sure to collaborate before meetings with our scouts. Jenn always had great ideas that would help the girls to see themselves as future leaders and as independent thinkers.
I was thrilled when Jenn told me she was thinking about running for School Committee. She possesses all the qualities that I believe a member of the School Committee should have. To begin with, her passion for education is evident in everything that she does. She is an experienced classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and now works as a professor at Boston University, preparing future teachers. Working at BU, Jenn has had the opportunity to travel internationally and observe how other countries view and value education. Jenn was named advisor of the year in 2015 and most recently professor of the semester. She is involved in the Shawsheen/West PAC and served on the School Advisory Councils at both the Boutwell School and the Shawsheen School. Jenn also works very closely with the Department of Education, which gives her a unique perspective on educational initiatives. She has seen different strategies that have worked and have not worked well in other communities across Massachusetts. I am confident that Jenn will bring new and innovative ideas to our community.
Jenn has what it takes to be a leader. She is not afraid to speak her mind, yet is also open-minded and willing to listen to others. Jenn is truly excited about the opportunity to serve as a liaison between parents and the school department. She is running for School Committee because she wants ALL children in our great community to receive an exemplary education in a safe and inviting environment. She will fight for what is best for our children.
Please join me on April 22nd and cast one of your two votes for Jennifer Bryson.
