BOSTON, MA — Nine-year-old Brodie Rawson, a Wilmington resident and patient at Floating Hospital for Children, shaved Patrice Bergeron’s head during the 10th annual Cuts for a Cause event at the House of Blues on March 27.
The event, hosted by Bruins forward Bergeron and 98.5 The Sports Hub, raised over $100,000 for Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.
Brodie was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma in May 2016. He underwent six rounds of in-patient chemotherapy. His need for in-patient stays ended in October, and he is now followed closely in the clinic with blood work, frequent PET scans and MRIs.
Brodie enjoys playing “Monopoly Deal” and “Clue” with the Child Life Staff while in clinic. Outside of the hospital, Brodie likes to play video games with his brother and friends online, watching “Henry Danger” and making YouTube videos. His favorite Bruins players are Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak.
