WILMINGTON, MA — With just weeks until We’re One Wilmington’s 7th Annual Road Race, members of the community are getting ready to come together as one. For Lou Forte and his family, this is event is bittersweet.
Kim Forte impacted many in the community and her spirit and commitment to kindness live on to this day.
As Lou says, “A very valuable lesson I learned early on was from Kim’s high school yearbook where the students were asked to shared a favorite quote. Kim shared one that she lived by – “It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice.”
Please come join us as we run and walk in the spirit of being kind on Sunday, April 23rd.
Registration can be completed online or through our mail-in registration form. Both can be found at http://www.onewilmington.org/road-race/.
Proceeds from the road race will be used, in part, to fund the WOW scholarship program, which has awarded over $35,000 to deserving Wilmington students over the past seven years. For the fourth year, WOW will also donate $3 per youth and $5 per adult registration back to local non-profit organizations selected by registered participants. Since we have started this tradition, our participants have raised over $8,000 for many deserving Wilmington organizations.
We invite you to visit http://www.onewilmington.org to learn more about We’re One Wilmington and the 7th Annual 5K Run for Wilmington / Kim Forte Walk.
