10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (April 3, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Monday, April 3, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 55. West wind around 6 mph.

#2) It’s a CURBSIDE COLLECTION WEEK for leaves and grass clippings. Leaves/grass clippings, placed in bio-degradable paper bags or uncovered barrels, will be collected curbside on your trash day.

#3) DEADLINE: New to town?  New to voting?  Not sure if you’re registered to vote? TODAY is the last day to register to vote for the Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting. The Town Clerk’s Office, located inside Wilmington Town Hall, will be open late on Monday — from 8:30am to 8pm– to accommodate any last-minute registrants.

#4) The Wilmington Catholic Collaborative is sponsoring “The Heart of the Cross: A One-Woman Passion Play” with Olivia Woodford at 7pm. Scripture comes to life with this beautiful script and performance!  Be transported back in time to the foot of the cross and the heart of the Passion as Olivia portrays the women who witnessed the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection. #5) The Woburn Street School’s School Advisory Council meets at 2:45pm at the school. Read the agenda HERE.

#6) The Wilmington Democratic Town Committee holds its monthly meeting at 7pm at Wilmington Community Television (10 Waltham Street).

#7) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today:

  • Wilmington Community Playgroup (9:30am-10:30am)
  • WCV: Radio For Your Eyes (2:30pm)
  • College Admission/Financial Aid Night (7pm)

  • Blood Pressure (9:30am)
  • SBF Exercise (9:45am)
  • Special Exercise (11am)
  • Quilting (1pm)

#9) FOUR Wilmington High School sports teams are scheduled for action, although games may be postponed due to weather conditions:

  • 3:30 pm Boys Varsity Tennis vs Lexington High School @ Wilmington High School
  • 3:30 pm Girls Varsity Tennis vs Lexington High School @ Lexington High School
  • 3:30 pm Boys Varsity Spring Track vs Arlington High School @ Wilmington High School
  • 3:30 pm Girls Varsity Spring Track vs Arlington High School @ Wilmington High School
