WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, April 1, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see rain and snow before 7am, then rain and sleet between 7am and 10am, then snow after 10am. High near 34. Northeast wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
#2) The Town of Wilmington’s Health Department is hosting its Annual Rabies Clinic from noon to 2pm at the Public Buildings Department (30 Church Street). Rabies vaccines will be available for dogs and cats at a cost of $10 per animal. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in a carrier. Representatives from the Town Clerk’s Office will also be available during the Rabies Clinic to process dog licenses. The cost for a dog license is $10 per spayed/neutered dog, and $15 per non-spayed/non-neutered dog. Learn more HERE.
#3) Wilmington Selectman candidate Ed Loud is holding a campaign rally from 7pm to 11pm, in the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue). Come hear directly from the the candidate in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying music and refreshments. Contributions are accepted, but not required. The event is in the building’s lower hall. Attendees are asked to use the back entrance.
#4) The Wilmington Middle School Drama Club presents Peter Pan at 1pm in the Wilmington Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults.
#5) The Hot Tub and Swim Spa Blowout Expo takes place from 10am to 8pm at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Free admission and parking. Learn more HERE.
#6) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a meeting of its Writing Group at 9:15am. Learn more and register HERE.
#8) The Wilmington Youth Center (126 Middlesex Avenue, Villanova Hall) is open FOR THE FINAL TIME THIS SCHOOL YEAR from 7pm to 10pm. The Center is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders who live in Wilmington. Learn more about the Center, and how you can sign your child up, HERE.
