This year, the rodeo charity is 4 Paws for Ability, a service dog agency that serves children and veterans with disabilities all over the globe.
Boston Rodeo Frontier Days learned about 4 Paws through a family member whose son has had Geoffrey, an autism assistance dog, for two years.
“Geoffrey was trained to keep Aidan safe. He was trained to be tethered to Aidan as well as trained to find him in those times when he runs off,” said event organizer Kenny Churchill. “In addition, Geoffrey’s behavior disruption techniques help calm Aidan. This dog is making a difference in how Aidan copes with his autism. My hope is that every child who needs a service dog can get one, and that is why I choose to help 4 Paws this year.”
