10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (March 28, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, March 28, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see areas of drizzle and fog with a slight chance of showers before 10am, then a chance of sprinkles between 10am and 4pm, then showers with a chance of sprinkles after 4pm. High near 48. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

#2) The Wilmington Sons of Italy’s Junior Lodge is holding a “Dining For A Cause” fundraiser at the Ninety Nine Restaurant (144 Lowell Street) from 4pm to 11pm. 15% of your bill will be donated to the junior lodge if you present the flyer below to your server/host.  The donation applies to both dine-on AND take-out orders.  No coupons, discounts or promotions are accepted during the fundraiser. #3) Planning Director Valerie Gingrich is speaking with residents at the Wilmington Memorial Library at 10:30am to discuss the Facility Master Plan options.  Learn more HERE.

#6) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) will be holding its usual Tuesday programs:

  • 9:00am — Zumba
  • 9:00am — Computer Class
  • 10:30am — Aerobics
  • 12:30pm — Wii Bowling

#8) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#9) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.

#10) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

PLUS: The Wilmington Department of Elderly Services is providing free income tax assistance through American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Wilmington residents ages 60 and older may schedule an appointment by calling the Buzzell Senior Center at 978-657-7595. The program runs every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm through Tuesday, April 11 at the Wilmington Senior Center.
