WILMINGTON, MA – At Wednesday night’s School Committee Meeting, WHS Athletic Director Tim Alberts announced details surrounding the 2017 Wildcat Summer Sports Clinics.
“This will be the ninth year the clinics have been run by our Athletic Department,” wrote Director of Administration and Finance Paul Ruggiero in a memo to the Committee. “Over the past eight years, the summer clinics have averaged over 380 participants and brought in almost $485,000 in gross revenue.”
11 clinics, for children in Grades 1 to 8, will be offered this summer in the following sports: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Field Hockey, Flag Football, Volleyball, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, “All Sports,” Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer and Track.
All clinics, run by Wilmington High School coaches, alumni and athletes, will run for five days in a week for a total of 28 hours, with the exception of Track and Volleyball, which will run for four days and 24 hours.
The cost of the clinics remain at $175 per week for each sport, with the exception of Track and Volleyball, which will cost $150. Additional clinic enrollment is discounted $25 per clinic.
In a change from last year, the clinics will be held at Wilmington Middle School due to potential work needed on the WHS gymnasium. The one exception is the Track Clinic, which will take place at Alumni Stadium at Wilmington High.
Here is the summer sports clinic schedule:
- June 19 to June 23: Boys Basketball, Field Hockey
- June 26 to July 30: Girls Basketball, Flag Football
