WILMINGTON REC REMINDERS: Spring Classes Start Soon

WILMINGTON, MA — It’s hard to believe that the first day of Spring will be next week.  If you’ve got cabin fever, the perfect prescription should be a healthy dose of recreation…and the Wilmington Recreation Department has something for every age group.

For the kids:

For kids age 3 – 4, there’s a Beginner Ballet class.  It meets Friday mornings, 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. from April 7 – May 19th and costs $52.00.

For 3rd-6th Graders who are interested in something NEW, we’re offering an Archery Class.  On Tuesdays, March 28 – May 2 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., kids will learn archery safety and range procedures, and will shoot their arrows at targets and score points.  This is an up-and-coming Olympic sport, and all youngsters are able to participate and compete on a level playing field regardless of their athletic ability.  All equipment will be provided, and cost is $95.00.

For kids age 10 – 18, the Learn to Sail program is returning Aug 7 – 11.  This week-long camp teaches kids sailing skills on the Charles River. Bus transportation and chaperones are included. New students must pass a swim test before attending.  For those kids who have completed the Learn to Sail class twice in the past, they are eligible for the Mercury class.  Cost for either camp is $155.00.

For the travelers:

Adam Trent’s ‘Magician Reinvented’ performance is scheduled for Thursday, April 20.  This is not your typical magic show.  Proclaimed to be ‘Phenomenal’ by the Today Show, Adam has been described as Justin Timberlake meets David Copperfield.  He blends music, dancing, and singing with innovative and mind-blowing stage illusions.  His energy, wit and emotion put together an experience that is part magic show, part concert, and part stand-up comedy.  Included in this trip are round-trip motor coach transportation, lunch and tickets to the performance.  Cost is $99.00.

Be sure to check out the latest edition of ‘Recreation Matters’ and see the full listing of what we have to offer!  To register, visit the Recreation Department’s website, stop by Room 8 in Town Hall, or call 978-658-4270.
