Adult Events

10 Steps to Shorten the Job Search *RR

Are you getting tired of the “same old, same old” in your job search? Are you finding yourself more distracted and less effective in your daily activities? This presentation will help you revisit the basics in your approach and perhaps help you discover one new thing that will put you back on track and help you move forward more effectively. Mike Chase is a professional in transition and has presented this topic at several networking venues.

Creative Writing Skill Building *RR
Tuesday, March 28, 7 pm
Learn and apply writing tips, tools, and techniques shared by published authors and other writing experts. Open to all who want to improve their writing skills and get their work published. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Birds of the New England Swamp *RR
Thursday, March 30, 7 pm
Wildlife photographer Peter Christoph presents a narrated slideshow, sharing both his award-winning images and his photographic secrets as he brings you inside a typical New England swamp. Peter provides an intimate look into the many varieties of birds that inhabit our swamps, sloshing and crawling through the swamp so you don’t have to, Peter captures the birds’ many activities including building the nest, feeding their young, and catching their prey.

ACT Practice Test *RR

Take the 3 hour and 40 minute test for free! Learn about the endurance and skill needed to score high on the ACT and get a personalized score report that shows your strengths and weaknesses.

First Look Book Group *RR

Music and More with Bernadette Baird *RR
Wednesday, March 22, 6:30 pm
Bernadette Baird presents music and movement for toddlers and young children through age three. Sing, play musical instruments and dance. Ages 1-3

Drop-In Storytime
Friday, March 24, 10 am
Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft! Space is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Ages 2-5 and one or more adults

R.E.A.D. Middle Grade Book Club *RR
Friday, March 24, 3:45 pm
Read, Eat and Discuss great books written for kids in grades 4-5.

Family Fort Night *RR
Friday, March 24 6:30-8:30 pm
Families are invited to join us for a fort night. Bring sheets and blankets to help you build your fort. We’ll provide the rest! Once built, families can crawl inside and spend the evening reading together. Light refreshments will be provided. Ages 3+

Drop-In Baby Times
Saturday, March 25, 9:30 am
Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.

Library News 

Food for Fines
In lieu of fines, the library will accept non-perishable items for the Wilmington Food Pantry as payment during the month of March. We ask that the items brought be comparable in cost to the fines owed. For a list of items needed by the Food Pantry, check the Community Fund website.

Travel Kits
The library has travel kits that you could borrow for the following destinations- Ireland, London, Florence, Disneyworld and Paris. The travel kits include guidebooks, maps, and DVDS plus a selfie stick packaged in a vinyl tote bag. The loan period is three weeks.
