WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is preparing a Facility Master Plan to establish a long term strategy for allocation of its municipal and school uses among buildings and sites. The plan will guide the Town’s decisions about operations and capital investments over the next 20+ years.
The Facility Master Plan Committee was formed to guide the process, and with the help of a professional team from The Cecil Group/Harriman, the Committee has considered several different scenarios for the future of our Town buildings. Those scenarios are presented on interactive display boards at Town Hall, the Buzzell Senior Center, the Wilmington Memorial Library and Wilmington Public Schools. A more detailed report containing each of the town facilities can be found HERE.
The Facility Master Plan Committee is asking residents to share their input regarding the pros and cons of each scenario.
Small forums and meetings have been scheduled for March at various locations around Town where residents can drop by to hear about the Plan. Forums include:
- Tuesday, March 14th at 9:30am at the Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue)
- Thursday, March 16th at 6:00pm at Wilmington Town Hall (121 Glen Road). This is the regularly scheduled Facility Master Plan Committee meeting.
- Tuesday, March 28th at 10:30am at the Wilmington Memorial Library Library (175 Middlesex Avenue)
A forum was previously held on Thursday, March 9th at 1:00pm at the Buzzell Senior Center, with a focus on senior housing.
Stay tuned for WCTV programming regarding the Plan and feel free to contact Valerie Gingrich, Director of Planning and Development at 978-658-3311 or at vgingrich@wilmingtonma.gov for more information.
