5 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (February 25, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, February 25, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington may see showers, mainly after 1pm. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

#2) The “Farewell February” Vendor & Craft Fair will take place from 11am to 3pm at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue). This fair, organized by North Shore Vendor Events, will feature more than 35 vendors and crafters. Confirmed participants include: Avon; Cheers To All Occasions; Chloe & Isabel; Damsel In Defense; KC StYleS; Juice Box Diva; LuLaRose; Mary Kay; Pampered Chef; Party Time Mixes; Perfectly Posh; PUREhaven Essentials; Scents Delivered; Scentsy; Simply Fun; Singing Stones Jewelry; Thirty One Gifts; and Two Sniffs Crafting. #3) Grace Chapel (128 West Street) is hosting its Annual Clothing Swap from 11am to 2pm. Participants are asked to bring children’s clothes (infants thru adolescents) to swap.  Even if an interested individual doesn’t have any clothes to swap, they’re still invited to participate.  New & gently worn adult socks will be collected for the homeless. #4) Boston Roller Derby, a Boston-based, female-only roller derby league, returns to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) for its season opener TODAY.  Doors open at 4pm.  The double-header begins at 5pm with the the Nutcrackers vs. Cosmonaughties, followed by the Harbor Horrors vs. Wicked Pissahs.  Tickets include admission to both games, plus entry into the Players’ After Party in the Fez Room at 9pm. Tickets are $12 (advance) and $16 (at the door) for adults; $6 (advance) and $8 (at the door) for kids (6-17); and kids under 6 are free. There is a small fee for online purchased. #5) The Wilmington Youth Center (126 Middlesex Avenue, Villanova Hall) is open from 7pm to 9:30pm. The Center is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders who live in Wilmington.  Learn more about the Center, and how you can sign your child up, HERE.
