Adult Events
Hands-on with Microsoft Word *RR
Wednesday, March 1, 7 pm
Join Technology Librarian, Brad McKenna, for a hands-on exercise with Microsoft Word. In this class you’ll learn how to change font styles, create lists, insert pictures, and more. A handout for additional practice will be provided.

Featured Book: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Location: Bertucci’s, Reading
A social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s. The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Reading Public Libraries. Meeting location rotates between Wilmington and Reading.

Leaving a Legacy of Love *RR

Michelle Beckman, founder of Sunday Dinner Stories, helps parents and grandparents write or record their life stories for their children and grandchildren. She will lead a 60-minute seminar to help you reflect on the events and meaning of your life so you can begin to form your own “legacy of love” for your family members.

Featured Cookbook: Cravings by Chrissy Teigan
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you. Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online) and email your recipe selection to leader Lisa Crispin (lcrispin@wilmlibrary.org). Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes!
Understanding Fractals and Chaos Theory *RR
Wednesday, March 8, 7 pm
Join Harvard Professor Chris Rycroft as he makes understanding fractals and chaos theory as easy as “pi”. Chaos Theory deals with nonlinear things that are effectively impossible to predict or control, like turbulence, weather, the stock market, etc. These phenomena are often described by fractal mathematics. Recognizing the chaotic, fractal nature of our world can give us new insight, power, and wisdom—so come and leave with a better understanding of the world around us. Professor Rycroft will gear the talk to a general audience.

This book club is for kindergarteners who miss storytime or those who love to be read to. We will read a book or two together, discuss it, and then do a fun activity.
Summer Activities Fair

Get a jump start on planning activities for your children this summer. Representatives from local camps and summer programs will be on hand with information about their summer offerings.

Book Buddies *RR
Fridays, 3:45 pm
Session 1: March 3, March 10 and March 17
Session 2: March 31, April 7 and April 14
This fun literacy program pairs kids with teen volunteers for one-on-one reading fun. In this three-week program, kids can practice reading or be read to, receive one-on-one attention from a trained teen, share a snack, and do a fun activity. Ages 4+
Book Buddies *RR

Session 1: March 3, March 10 and March 17
Session 2: March 31, April 7 and April 14
This fun literacy program gives you the opportunity to be paired with a child for three sessions and receive volunteer hours. Together you will read books, share a snack, and do a fun activity. To become a book buddy, submit an application in person or online at wilmlibrary.org/youth-services/teens/volunteers. Grades 9+
Drop-In Baby Times

Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.
Dads and Donuts
Saturday, March 4, 10:30 am
Dads and their kids ages two and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and more. Moms, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome, too! Ages 2-5 and one or more adults
Library News
Borrow a Kindle Fire
The library has two Kindle Fire Tablets available to borrow for three weeks. The apps for Overdrive, Hoopla, and Zinio are installed and can all be accessed with your library card to download a variety of books, music, videos, and audio books. This is good opportunity to test drive the Kindle Fire if you are thinking of buying one.
