8 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (February 22, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT things you need to know in Wilmington for Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be cloud in Wilmington, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

#2)  The WHS Varsity Boys Hockey team battles Tewksbury at 2pm at the Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street) at 2pm. The Wildcats will be honoring local military servicemen and servicewomen, plus their families, at the game.  The team will be collecting monetary donations and supply donations for the Wilmington-based Local Heroes. Proceeds from a 50/50 raffle will be donated to the organization.  The team will also be wearing special jersey honor the military and their families. Any Wilmington Youth Hockey player who wears their jersey to the game will be admitted for free.

#3) Merrimack Valley Pavilion (2087 Main Street, Tewksbury) is donating 20% of all sales (Laser Tag, Arcade, Food, Richardson’s Ice Cream) to the Wilmington High School Choral & Theatre Support (WHS CATS) Group TODAY from noon to 4pm.  Make sure to mention “CATS” when making your purchases! WHS CATS parent representatives will be onsite to sell Marcha-Pella IX Concert tickets and “It’s Show Time” raffle tickets.

#4) Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street) is hosting public skating from noon to 2pm. Admission costs $5 per person.

#5) The Wilmington Housing Authority meets at 5pm in Deming Way’s Community Hall. Read the agenda HERE.

#6) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today:

  • Ukulele Workshop (11am)
  • First Look Book Group (3pm)
  • Music & More with Bernadette Baird (6:30pm)

#7) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Wednesday activities:

  • SBF Exercise (9:45am)
  • Special Exercise (11am)
  • Country Line Dancing (1pm)
  • Gentle Yoga (3:45pm)

#8) The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.
