5 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (February 20, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Monday, February 20, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

2.) Town Offices are CLOSED today in honor of Presidents Day. Also, trash and recycling is delayed by one day this week.

#3) Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street) is hosting public skating from noon to 2pm. Admission costs $5 per person.

#4) The final day of The Commerford Fun Fair takes place at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) from 10am to 6pm. The fair promises a “fun, friendly, and safe place to bring your family, with rides, games and a unique chance to interact with exotic animals.”  Attractions include petting zoos, animal rides, kiddie rides, games, face painting, and souvenirs. Children 12 and under are free with a coupon. (One free child per paying adult.) Coupons are available at local businesses and at the front box office during the event. Otherwise, admission costs $15 at the door. Please note that rides and other vendors inside cost EXTRA (e.g., animal rides cost 5 tickets, kiddie rides cost 2 tickets, tickets cost $1.50 each, with discounted tickets by purchasing “value packs.”)

#5) The WHS Boys JV Hockey Team hosts Reading at 2:30pm at Ristuccia Arena.
