10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (February 14, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 10 things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

#2) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) will be screening the film, “How To Be Single,” at 7pm. Learn more and register HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) will be holding its annual Valentine’s Day Luncheon at noon. Learn more HERE.

#4) The Wilmington Town Museum (430 Salem Street) is open from 10am to 2pm. Explore Wilmington’s history! Learn more HERE.

#5) Many Wilmington High teams are in action today:

  • 3:30 pm — BOYS Freshman Basketball Stoneham
  • 3:30 pm — GIRLS Freshman Basketball vs Stoneham (at Wilmington Middle School)
  • 4:15 pm — GIRLS JV Basketball vs Stoneham (at Wilmington High School)
  • 5:00 pm — BOYS JV Basketball Stoneham
  • 6:00 pm — GIRLS Varsity Basketball vs Stoneham (at Wilmington High School)
  • 7:00 pm — BOYS Varsity Basketball Stoneham

#6) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#7) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.

#8) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

#9) The Wilmington Department of Elderly Services is providing free income tax assistance through American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Wilmington residents ages 60 and older may schedule an appointment by calling the Buzzell Senior Center at 978-657-7595. The program runs every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm through Tuesday, April 11 at the Wilmington Senior Center.
