WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 8 things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, January 29, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 41. West wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
#2) We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is holding its latest “Anything Drive” from 9am to noon at Villanova Hall (125 Middlesex Avenue). Bring down your gently used clothing and household goods. Learn more HERE.
#3) The final day of the Suburban Boston Spring Home Show takes place from 10am to 6pm at Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Free admission. Free parking. Learn more HERE.
#4) We’re One Wilmington is holding its Junior WOW Meeting from 11am to noon at Villanova Hall (125 Middlesex Avenue). Any students interested in participating should contact Jomarie O’Mahony with name and age at firstname.lastname@example.org.
#5) Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street) is holding a Chili Cook-Off & Chowder Challenge at 1pm. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids (under 10). Kids are 5 are free, with a family cap of $30. All proceeds will benefit the church’s youth mission program.
#6) Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue) is also holding a Chili Cook-Off at 5pm. Admission is free.
#7) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm. Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
#8) Members of the WHS Boys & Girls Track Team will participate in the MSTCA Coaches Invitation at the Reggie Lewis Field House at 10:30am.
