WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 5 things you need to know in Wilmington for Monday, January 2, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 39 and a calm wind. After 2am early on Tuesday morning, there is a chance of rain. Patchy fog after midnight.
#2) The Wilmington High School Boys JV Hockey team plays at Wakefield at 4:10pm.
#3) If you haven’t yet, check out LaRosa’s sometime this month. The restaurant –featuring pizza, calzones, pasta, sandwiches, and a salad & soup bar — opened in the Wilmington Crossing Plaza (211 Main Street) last week. Check out their Facebook page HERE.
#4) Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) is running its regular Monday special — “Mac Your Mondays.” Customers can create their own mac & cheese all day on Mondays. Customers receive $2 off when the post their dish with the hashtag #RHTMAC on Facebook or Instagram. See the poster HERE.
#5) REMINDER: Wilmington’s Department of Public Works will begin collecting Christmas trees at curbside on Tuesday, January 3 through Friday, January 13. Residents should remove all decorations and plastic wrapping from their trees and place them curbside on their regular trash pickup day. Note that trash pickup is delayed one day during the week of Monday, January 2 due New Year’s Day being observed on Monday.
PLUS: Wilmington Public Schools, Wilmington Town Hall, Wilmington Memorial Library, and the Wilmington Senior Center are CLOSED today in observance of New Years Day.
