Denise Casey Named Wilmington’s New Assistant Town Manager

WILMINGTON, MA — Denise Casey, Lexington’s Human Resource Director, has been named Wilmington’s next Assistant Town Manager/Human Resources Director.  Town Manager Jeff Hull made the announcement at Monday night’s Board of Selectmen Meeting.

“Based upon her background, experience, and demonstrated track record, it is clear to me that [Denise] will quickly become an integral part of the senior management team,” wrote Hull in a memo to Selectmen.  “Ms. Casey is passionate about serving in local government and I fully expect that employees, volunteers and residents alike will quickly appreciate her positive attitude, her professionalism, and her abilities to get the job done.”

Casey has served as Lexington’s Human Resources Director since 2007.  She previously worked in the Human Resources Departments in Concord and Bedford, while performing consulting work for several towns in Eastern Massachusetts.  Casey also serves as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University, teaching classes in local government.

Casey received her undergraduate and graduate agrees in public administration from Suffolk University.  She’s attained my awards during her career, including the Emil Skop Award from the Massachusetts Municipal Personnel Association for dedication in the field of municipal human resources.

Casey starts on Monday, December 5.  She takes over from Kendra Amaral, who recently left Wilmington to become Town Manager in Kittery, Maine.
