WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 16 activities (and counting) Wilmington residents can do over the next two weeks to get themselves in the mood for Halloween and/or Fall.
Cub Scouts Pumpkin Sale
Saturday, October 22, 9am to 6pm, & Sunday, October 23, 9am to 1pm
Friendship Lodge (32 Church Street)
The Cub Scouts Pack 126 of Wilmington will hold a 2-day pumpkin sale at the Friendship Lodge. Cub Scout Popcorn and Jack-O-Lantern-sized pumpkins will be available for purchase.
Cub Scouts Haunted House
Saturday, October 22, 4pm-5:30pm (Grades 1-5) & 7pm-8:30pm (Grades 6 & up)
Friendship Lodge (32 Church Street)
The Cub Scouts Pack 126 of Wilmington will host a Haunted House appropriate for kids (grades 1-5) from 4pm to 5:30pm, then a scarier Haunted House appropriate for older kids and adults from 7pm to 8pm.
Trunk or Treat
Sunday, October 23, 3pm-5pm
The Dance Company’s Parking Lot (909 Main Street)
This free event is a safe and unique alternative way to trick or treat. Cars will be lined up in the parking lot with trunks or tailgates full of goodies. Children go truck to trunk in their Halloween costumes. Enjoy music, games,contests, and fun! Sign up to decorate a trunk (not required) and provide candy to the little ghosts, goblins, and princesses. Cars will be lining up at 2:1 pm to be ready for trunk or treaters at 3 pm. Community Screening of “It’s A Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”
Friday, October 28, 6:30pm-8pm
Abundant Life (173 Church Street)
Abundant Life Church is holding a Halloween-themed family movie and craft night. “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” will be screened. The event is free and open to all. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Wilmington Food Pantry. Learn more HERE.
Scary-oke Costume Party

Harvest & Holly Fair

Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street)
Wilmington United Methodist Church is holding its Annual Harvest & Holly Fair. The event will include: a pumpkin patch; hand-crafted goods and decorations; coffee & pastries; baked goods; homemade pies; used books; popcorn; plants; children’s activities; country store; white elephant table; used jewelry; fudge; jams & jellies; frozen entrees to go; and luncheon (starts at 11am). Admission and parking is FREE. The event is sponsored by the Wilmington & Tewksbury United Methodist Women.
Harvest Fest

Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks’ Halloween Spook-tack-u-lar

Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury)
Calling all Monsters and Ghouls! Join the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks for a Halloween “Spook-tac-u-lar.” Tickets cost $10 per person and will be available at the door. The evening will include music, games, raffles, a cash bar, and prizes for best costumes in the categories of most original, scariest, and best couple.
Wilmington High School Marching Band Performs In Woburn’s 62nd Annual Halloween Parade
Sunday, October 30, 1pm-2:30pm
Start: Rotary of Route 38 and I-95 in WOBURN, march south on Main Street for 2.2 miles in WOBURN; End: Near Woburn/Winchester Line
The Wilmington High School Marching Band will be performing in the Woburn Lions Club’s 62nd Annual Halloween Parade. The event draws more than 80,000 per year and features over 25 bands and 90 floats from local groups and organizations. Learn more about the parade HERE.
2nd Annual ‘Boo Bakes For Breast Cancer’

Boo Bakes for Breast Cancer is a family-friendly Halloween bake sale held at the Friendship Lodge. This fundraiser will benefit breast cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Kids and families are invited to sign up to donate peanut-free baked goods or volunteer at the event by contacting boobakesforbreastcancer[at]yahoo.com. Harvest Festival

The Wilmington Town Museum and the Wilmington Minuteman Company are holding a Harvest Festival at the Harnden Tavern. Experience old-fashioned farm life with open-pit cooking and other food skills, candle-making, games of the past and more. Tour Wilmington’s 18th century house museum, currently featuring the special exhibit — “101 Years of Wilmington High School.” Enjoy some apple crisp and other seasonal goodies. Take your chance on some auction items.
Wilmington’s 49th Annual Horribles Parade
Sunday, October 30, 4:30pm-5pm
Start: Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street); Finish: Wilmington High School Cafeteria (159 Church Street)
The Wilmington Recreation Department is sponsoring the 49th Annual Wilmington Horribles Parade. A fire engine will lead the parade down Church Street to the High School Cafeteria where treats will await all costumed children. (In case of inclement weather, participants should go directly to the Wilmington High School Cafeteria. Participants should bring their own bags.)
Haunted House
Sunday, October 30, 6pm-8:30pm, & Monday, October 31, 6pm-8:30pm
3 West Jamaica Avenue
Wilmington’s David Newhouse and Bill Spencer will once again be holding their popular Haunted House at 3 West Jamaica Avenue. (West Jamaica Avenue is off of Faulkner Avenue, which is off of Glen Road.) The Haunted House, now in its seventh year, promises frights and tricks, with ghosts, witches, goblins and creates of the night! There will be additional entertainment for scaredy cats, including music and a light show. The event is FREE, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Halloween Party For Kids

Kids (ages 3 to 6) are invited to come to the library dressed in your Halloween costume. Play some games, have a snack and make a spooky craft. Register HERE.
Senior Center Halloween Celebration
Monday, October 31, 2pm-4pm
Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street)
Who says you’re “too old” to dress up? Come on down to the Center in your best costume for its Halloween party. They’ll have some games, treats and a costume contest. Tickets cost $4. Sign-ups begin Thursday, October 6 at the Center’s Front Desk.
Wilmington United Methodist Church’s Pumpkin Patch
Daily Through Monday, October 31, 11am to 7pm
Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street)
The Wilmington United Methodist Church is hosting a pumpkin patch on its front lawn from Sunday, October 16 to Monday, October 31, between 11am and 7pm. Proceeds from this new fundraiser will benefit the church’s 2017 youth mission projects. Story times will be held in the patch daily at 4pm. Preschools and daycares are encouraged to register for story times by calling the church at 978-658-4519. S’more Dance Parties will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm. Come for a snack at the fire pit and dance into the evening with your friends.
NOTE: There will be NO “Haunted Woods” behind the Harnden Tavern this year, but it will likely return next year.
