WHS GIRLS XC: Wildcats Show Improvement, But Remain Winless

WILMINGTON, MA – The Wilmington High School Girls Cross Country team (0-5) was defeated by Watertown High, 16 to 47, on Tuesday, October 11 at home.

Despite the loss, Head Coach Brian Schell was excited for his team.

“Overall, the girls times were exceptional and everyone ran a PR,” said Schell.  “I am impressed with all the girls.  They are progressing well and are where they should be.”

“Anna De La Cruz was out top finisher at 5th place in 21:42,” continued Schell.  “I am very happy for her.  The way she raced today showed me she dug down deep, found a little bit of aggression and even finished strong passing 3 girls within the last 150 members.  She set a personal record by roughly one minute.”
