BREAKING: Town Statement on Superintendent Mary DeLai

WILMINGTON, MA — The town just issued the following statement regarding the DeLai arrest:

On Thursday, September 29,  Town Manager Jeffrey Hull and at least one Selectman received from an anonymous source a copy of the State Police report relative to Superintendent Mary DeLai’s August OUI arrest. Upon receiving the report, the Town Manager contacted Superintendent DeLai, Town Counsel John Foskett, and the Board of Selectmen Chair Judy O’Connell. He also contacted the School Committee Chair Julie Broussard and provided her with a copy of the police report.

The School Committee serves as the appointing authority for the Superintendent position. The School Committee will be convening an executive session this evening, Monday, October 3, at 7PM at the Roman House, 161 Church Street to discuss the matter.

  1. I have no issue with a person who has sought to help children and wakes up every day to work doing that …..a bad decision doesn’t define a person or their career.
