12 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (October 1)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 12 things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, October 1, 2016.

#1) The Wilmington Boosters Club is holding a Trivia Night at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  Doors open at 7pm. Trivia begins at 8pm. Tickets cost $20 each.  A table of 10 costs $180. #2) The North of Boston Boat Sale & Expo is being held from 10am to 6pm at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Admission and parking is free.  Learn more HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Little League is holding its final tryouts for Majors Baseball at 10am at Rotary Park. Learn more HERE.

#4) The Abundant Life Church (173 Church Street) is holding its annual Fall Clean Up Day from 9am to noon. Volunteers will clean both the inside of the church and area outside of the church.

#5) The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office will hold a forfeited car auction at 15 Commonwealth Avenue in  Woburn. Registration and viewing will take place from 8am to 10am, and the auction will run from 10am until completion. Learn more HERE.

#6)  The Wilmington-based Merrimack Valley Chorus will be performing at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts (1A North Road, Chelmsford) at 7:30pm. The Chorus will be performing at the “Barbershop Harmony Extravaganza II,” hosted by The Gentlemen Songsters of Lowell, who will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of their founding.  Fireside Quartet, consdiered one of the best barbershop quartets in all of the Northeast, will also perform. Tickets will be available at the door –$15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.

#7) Shawsheen Tech Class of 1991 is holding its 25-Year Reunion from 7pm to 11:30pm at the Longmeadow Country Club in Lowell.  Learn more HERE.

#8) Pacific Grove (211 Lowell Street) is hosting Karaoke with Winnell Entertainment at 8pm.

#9) Several Wilmington High sports teams are in action today:

  • BOYS JV Football vs Wakefield  (9:30am)
  • GIRLS Varsity Cross Country at Frank Kelley Invitational @ Wrentham (noon)
  • BOYS Varsity Cross Country at Frank Kelley Invitational @ Wrentham (noon)

#10) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today:

  • Writing Group (9:15am-noon)
  • Drop-In Baby Times (9:30am-10:15am)
  • Dads & Donuts (10:30am-11:15am).
