RMLD To Holst Electric Vehicle Showcase On September 17

READING, MA — Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) will host a community event to showcase its electric vehicle (EV) programs and those available from the state on Saturday, September 17, from 10 am to 2 pm, at RMLD Headquarters (230 Ash Street) in Reading. Plug-in vehicles from local automobile dealers will be available for test rides and drives. RMLD customers with EVs will be in attendance to offer insider reviews and commentary.

Dozens of Massachusetts electric vehicle drivers, local dealers and enthusiasts will showcase electric vehicles to highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars during the week of September 10-18, 2016. RMLD is organizing this local event as part of the fifth annual National Drive Electric Week organized by Plug In American, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Nissan LEAF is the exclusive automotive sponsor.

RMLD’s event is one of more than 200 across the country where electric vehicle owners and their neighbors will hold electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognition of leaders promoting EVs, launches of new public EV charging stations and other public events.
