WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, August 27, 2016:
- Police notified Mass. Highway that the lights in front of Simards were stuck on flashing mode. (7:18am)
- A caller reported possibly drug paraphernalia on a grassy lot on Williams Avenue. Police retrieved some Class D drugs and a digital scale. (9:53am)
- On a check of Town Beach, a beachgoer wanted to speak to someone regarding having the bathrooms opened even when lifeguards are off-duty and beach season is formally over. (12:17pm)
- Police noted that the automated sprinkler system was running at Metro at Wilmington Station in violation of the water ban. Police notified the Water Department. (1:49pm) [UPDATE: Metro at Wilmington Station uses a private well for watering and is not under the jurisdiction of the Water Department. The Water Department notified the Police of the private well.]
- Police located an abandoned blue Mongoose bike on the side of the road on Shawsheen Avenue. (4:00pm)
- Dustin R. Cole (30, Wilmington) was arrested on warrants for assault & battery on a family member and larceny under $250. Cole was arrested near Citizens Bank on Main Street. (4:47pm)
- A gray 2006 Acura struck a parked white 2o14 Chevy Traverse in the Salvation Army parking lot. (5:17pm)
- Police received a report that a hit & run accident occurerd around 11:30am near the Wilmington Congregational Church. (6:46pm)
- Police received a loud music complaint on Cunningham Street. Police spoke with those at a gathering who agreed to keep it down. (7:26pm)
- Police received a loud music complaint on Kilmarnock Street. Police responded. Band stopped playing and party moved inside. (10:39pm)
