WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Memorial Library held its End of Summer Bash last Thursday evening on the Swain Green, across from the Wilmington Town Common.
Despite the 95 degree heat, a large contingent of residents came out to celebrate the end of the library’s summer reading programs with food, music, games and entertainment.
The Firebox BBQ Food Truck and Amigos Locos Tex-Mex Food Truck were a hit with the crowd. Summer reading participants also enjoyed a free ice cream from the Cool Cow Ice Cream Truck. 15 year-old guitar prodigy Quentin Callewaert and his band provided the music. Casper the Spectacular kept children entertained with juggling and balloon twisting. Teresa Smith was the lucky winner of the Friends of Library’s Fitness-themed Summer Reading Gift Basket Raffle.
Library Director Tina Stewart took the opportunity to encourage residents to join to the Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization which fundraises for the library and sponsors the library’s programs, including the summer reading programs. Learn more and contribute to the Friends HERE.
