WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things to do today in Wilmington on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
#1) The Wilmington Police Department is holding its 3rd Annual National Night Out event from 6pm to 8pm (plus a film after dark) at Rotary Park.The evening will feature fun & games, emergency vehicle & equipment displays, a K9 demonstration, and more! The Massachusetts National Guard will be landing a Black Hawk helicopter on the little league field. Red Heat Tavern will be manning the grills, the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce will be providing ice cream, and Target will be providing water and raffling off two kids bicycles! #2) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm at Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE. Topics include Elia’s Country Store’s renovations, mobile food truck regulations, and lead testing in Wilmington Public Schools.
#3) The Wilmington Planning Board meets at 7:30pm at Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE. The Board is holding a (continued) public hearing regarding a subdivision and stormwater management permit for Nelson Acres (Map 57, Parcel 54E).
#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today — Preschool Storytime: Camping (10am-10:45am); Cookin’ The Books (noon-1pm); and All You Can Read Buffet (1pm-5pm). Learn more HERE.
#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is hosting its normal Tuesday activities — Walking Group (9am); Bocce (9:30am); Aerobics (10:30am); and Wii Bowling (12:30pm).
#6) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#8) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue). The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones. Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks! A luncheon is served as noon. There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.
