VIDEO: Bruins Thank Wilmington & Say Farewell To Ristuccia Arena

WILMINGTON, MA — The Boston Bruins have skated their final practice in Wilmington as the team is moving to a brand new, state-of-the-art practice facility in Allston.

At the conclusion of the Bruins Developmental Camp at Ristuccia Arena on Friday, General Manager Don Sweeney thanked the Town of Wilmington, which has served as the team’s home away from home since 1987.

“I want to acknowledge the people here in Wilmington and the community itself,” said Sweeney at the start of his press conference. “We’ve been in this area for 30 years.  [Rink manager] Bob Rotundo, and Eileen, have been tremendous partners with us. ”

“[The Bruins] feel very fortunate to have had this type of relationship with not only the town, but the people here at Ristuccia,” continued Sweeney.  “I want to say ‘thank you’ to all of them as this is the last time we’ll be here on the ice as a group.”
