WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Band Parents Association will be selling soda, water and snacks at this year’s Concerts on the Common. Funds raised from sales at their booth will support Band Camp, scholarships given to graduating band members, and other band-related activities.
The concerts, organized by the Wilmington Recreation Department, take place every Wednesday night, this July from 6:30pm to 8pm, on the Town Common.
The schedule is below:
On Wednesday, July 6, 6:30pm-8pm, Howie Newman and Jackie Damsky will perform. The dynamic duo entertains with funny original songs (“My Baby Can’t Parallel Park”) as well as well-known music, ranging from the Beatles to Steely Dan to the Dropkick Murphys. A night of fun set to music! (Rain date: Thursday, July 7)
On Wednesday, July 13, 6:30pm-8pm, Ball in the House will perform. The group is a cappella at its best! As the Boston Globe put it, “Ball in the House has everything you would expect to find in a successful pop/rock band… the one thing it doesn’t have is instruments.” (Rain date: Thursday, July 14)
On Wednesday, July 20, 6:30pm-8pm, Jimmy & The Jesters will perform. Jimmy “Mr. Rock & Roll” Merrick and The Jesters specialize in the oldies and classic country tunes the way you remember them. (Rain date: Thursday, July 21)
On Wednesday, July 27, 6:30pm-8pm, ’60s Invasion will perform. This popular show band features the music of the sixties! Sit back as the band takes you back to the days of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, and more. Music, trivia, nostalgia — it’s all sixties! (Rain date: Thursday, July 28)
