WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball Team (12-7) defeated Winchester, 12-0, on Thursday afternoon in Winchester, then fell to Ipswich, 6-5, on Friday afternoon in Ipswich.
In the Winchester win, Wilmington’s Jennifer Dovidio pitched a no-hitter. Liz Gordon led the way with 3 RBI, while Brittany Garrard, Teresa Gracia, Antonia Kieran, and Shannon Horgan each recorded 2 RBI.
In the Ipswich lost, Shannon Horgan hit a homerun, but poor base running would cost the Wildcats two runs and the win.
NEXT UP: WHS Softball (12-7) hosts Arlington at noon at Wilmington Town Park.
