5 Things To Do In Wilmington Today (May 17, 2016)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

#1) The Town is holding an important substance abuse prevention talk for parents at St. Thomas Church (126 Middlesex Avenue) from 7:30pm to 9pm.  Learn more HERE.

#2a) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm at Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#2b) The Wilmington Board of Library Trustees meets at 7pm at the Wilmington Memorial Library (Banda Room). Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO events today — a workshop on Digital Security (2:30pm-3:30pm) and a film screening of Joy (6:30pm-8:30pm). Learn more and register HERE.

#4) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is hosting its normal Tuesday activities —  Aerobics (10:30am); Wii Bowling (12:30pm); and 3B Fitness (2pm).

#5) The following WHS varsity teams are in action today:

  • WHS Girls Lacrosse @ Stoneham — 3:30pm — Stoneham High School
  • WHS Boys Tennis vs. Wakefield — 3:30pm — Wilmington High School
  • WHS Girls Tennis @ Wakefield — 3:30pm — Wakefield High School
  • WHS Softball vs. Somerville — 3:45pm — Wilmington Town Park (Route 38)
  • WHS Boys Lacrosse vs. Stoneham — 4pm — Wilmington High School
  • WHS Boys & Girls Track competes in League Championship at 4pm at Regis College

PLUS: The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

PLUS: Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

PLUS: Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.
