WILDCAT WAKEUP: WHS Girls Tennis Drop 2 Close Games, Woods & Schramm Shine

WILMINGTON, MA —The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team (3-8) was defeated by Melrose, 3-2, at Wilmington High on Monday afternoon

  • Wilmington freshman Emily Hill fell to Jackie Pereira, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.
  • Wilmington junior Sam Maragioglio defeated Lily Fitzgerald, 6-2, 6-4.
  • Wilmington senior Jess Nussbaum fell to Julia McLaughlin, 6-3, 6-4.
  • Wilmington juniors Christina Woods and Lou Schramm defeated Hannah Butler and Olivia Zibaitis, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
  • Wilmington junior Christina Wright and senior Vanessa D’Angelo fell to Miranda Lombordo and Kira DeLucid , 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.

The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team (3-8) then dropped their fifth straight in a match-up against Arlington, 3-2, at Arlington High on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Wilmington freshman Emily Hill fell to Mia Wallace, 6-1, 6-1.
  • Wilmington senior Jess Nussbaum fell to Lenna Iskenderian, 6-3, 6-3.
  • Wilmington freshman Lia Kourkoutas defeated Kate Carr, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.
  • Wilmington juniors Christina Woods and Lou Schramm defeated Anna Kramar and Bella Pajevic, 7-6, 7-5 (7-5).
  • Wilmington junior Christina Wright and sophomore Lauren Field fell to Martina Leretti & Ilana Leva, 6-1, 6-3.

NEXT UP: The WHS Girls Tennis Team (3-8) take on Wakefield on Wednesday, May 11 at 3:30pm at Wilmington High.
