WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Friday, May 6, 2016.
#1) Wilmington Public Schools is holding its annual student art show on Friday, May 6, 6pm-8pm, and Saturday, May 7, 10am-2pm, in the Wilmington Middle School Cafeteria. Artwork from all grade levels and all eight schools will be on display. Light refreshments will be served.
#2) The WorldCup Bull Riders Rodeo is coming to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) with shows on Friday, May 6 at 7pm and Saturday, May 7 at noon and 7pm. The show includes WorldCup Bull Riders; kids barrel racing; bands; BBQ; live country music; mechanical bull; kids games; horse trick riding; rodeo clowns; and pony rides, plus a special performance of hit song “Boston Strong” by recording artist Big D. #3) The Wilmington Knights of Columbus (112 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a karaoke and dancing from 8pm to midnight in its downstairs hall. Learn more HERE.
#4) WHS Boys Tennis hosts Reading at 3:30pm at Wilmington High. WHS Girls Tennis travels to Reading High at 3:30pm. WHS Baseball hosts Winchester at 3:45pm at Wilmington High. WHS Girls Lacrosse battles Winchester at 3:45pm at McCall Middle School in Winchester. WHS Boys Lacrosse hosts Winchester at 4pm at the Woburn Street School. WHS Softball hosts Stoneham at 6pm at Wilmington Town Park (Route 38).
#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its regular Friday activities — Video Exercise (10am); Special Exercise (11am); Bingo (1pm) and Cards (1pm).
PLUS: The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO programs — Drop-In Storytime (10am-11am) and Mother/Daughter Paint Night (6:30pm-8:30pm). Learn more HERE.
PLUS: The Wilmington Figure Skating Club is holding an 8-week ‘Learn-To-Skate’ session on Friday afternoons, from May 6 to June 24, at Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street). Participants can choose between a 4pm-4:50pm class and a 5:20pm-6:10pm class. The entire session costs $120, with a $15 annual registration fee.
