WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, April 6, 2016:
- Police received report of turkeys on the off-ramp of 93 South Exit 39 causing traffic issues. State Police was notified. (6:59am)
- A Fiorenza Drive resident reported an injured turkey at the end of her driveway. Bird was gone by the time police arrived. (8:13am)
- Police issued a citation to a driver for texting. (8:23am)
- A caller reported a vehicle passed a school bus while its stop lights were activated. Caller gave the police the vehicle’s license plate number. (9:28am)
- Keth Jones (23, Boston) was arrested on an outstanding warrant; failure to stop for the police; reckless operation of a motor vehicle; speeding in violation of special regulations; and the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Jones was arrested in the Shawsheen School parking lot after a pursuit from 93 South. (10:23am)
- A caller reported a man was begging for money outside an unnamed Main Street business. Man left prior to police arrival. Police spoke with employees. (1:05pm)
- Police received a report of a suspicious man outside Cumberland Farms who is asking customers for money. Man also kept coming into the store and using the bathroom. Police responded and spoke to the man, who died any wrongdoing. He was sent on his way. (4:53pm)
- A caller reported that a red pick up truck was parked on the grass next to the Fishing Pier on Burnap Street and they’ve unloaded a boat into the lake. Police responded. Individuals were treating the like for the Conservation Commission. Checked out OK. (5:02pm)
- Officer reported a large seagull was struck and still alive in front of Lynette’s Limos. Bystander took the seagull to the vet on Burlington Ave. (5:27pm)
- An Avalon Drive caller reported she used her credit card at the North Wilmington Shell Gas Station yesterday. She believed there may have been a scanning device on the pump because her credit card has been used a few times since then without her knowledge. (8:01pm)
