OBITUARY: Richard A. Cole, 64

HILLSDALE, NJ — Richard A. Cole, age 64, of Hillsdale, NJ, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died peacefully on March 20, 2016.

Rich was an electrical engineer with degrees from FDU in Teaneck. Over the years he worked on many interesting projects for ITT Avionics Division, Singer-Kearfott Navigation Systems, and MEI Technologies. He especially enjoyed when work took him to Picatinny Arsenal for hands-on testing of their tanks and armored vehicles. He was an avid ham radio operator and enjoyed talking with people from around the world.

Rich is predeceased by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Dorothy Cole, and brother Raymond Jr. of Georgia. He is survived by sister Virginia Cole of Hillsdale, and brother Robert Cole and his wife Arleen of Cape Cod, sisters-in-law Debbie Sibley of NH and Ann Cole of Ga. He also leaves behind three nieces (Tracy, Jaime, and Marcie) of NH and their families.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours on Monday, March 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Becker Funeral Home at 219 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 10:00 a.m. at St John the Baptist RC Church at 69 Valley Street in Hillsdale, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Rich’s name be made to the Jimmy Fund, PO Box 970025, Boston, MA 02297-0025 or the American Heart Association , 1 Union Street Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
