WILMINGTON, MA — WCTV and the Town Manager have launched a new program “Town Topics” on Wilmington’s community television station. Building on the success of the quarterly newsletter sent to tax payers, Town Topics on WCTV provides timely information on hot topics and town functions for residents of Wilmington. Taxpayers will continue to receive the quarterly newsletter with their bills.
Hosted by WCTV Executive Director, Shaun Neville, Town Topics features a new guest each month. The pilot episode, aired in February, featured Town Manager Jeffrey Hull who provided highlights of his $104M budget proposal and an overview of the process that leads up to Annual Town Meeting, scheduled for April 30th.
This month’s episode features Valerie Gingrich, Director of Planning and Conservation, and focuses on the town’s proposal to create a new Neighborhood District in the town’s zoning bylaws. She discusses the purpose of the new zone, what would be allowed and restricted. She also provides a brief overview of other zoning housekeeping proposed for Annual Town Meeting.
Both the budget and the zoning proposals are articles slated for the upcoming Town Meeting on April 30th.
