5 Things To Do In Wilmington Today (February 27, 2016)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Saturday, February 27, 2016.

#1) The WHS Lamplighters Guild will perform Burial at Thebes at the Massachusetts Education Theater Guild Festival’s Preliminaries at Andover High School (100 Shawsheen Road).  The festival’s first performance begins at 9am and final performance wraps around 6pm.  Wilmington is scheduled to take the stage at 12:15pm.  Wilmington will be competing against Tewksbury, Hamilton-Wenham, Andover, Academy of Notre Dame, Georgetown, Wakefield and Nazareth Academy.  Tickets cost $10 and are available at the door.

#2) The Wilmington United Methodist Church is holding a Ham & Bean Supper on at 6pm at the Church (87 Church Street). Tickets cost $10 for adults and $3 for children.  Children ages three and under eat free. Contact the Church’s Office at 978-658-4519 to order your tickets.

#3) Wilmington Youth Lacrosse is holding free concussion screenings for players from 8:30am to 3pm at Excel Orthopaedic Specialists (200 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn).  Learn more HERE.

#4) Pacific Grove (211 Lowell Street) is hosting Karaoke from Winnell Entertainment at 8pm.

#5) The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.

PLUS: The Wilmington Youth Center (126 Middlesex Avenue, Villanova Hall) is open from 7pm to 9:30pm. The Center is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders who live in Wilmington.  Learn more about the Center, and how you can sign your child up, HERE.

PLUS: The Wilmington Food Pantry (142 Chestnut Street) is open from 10am to noon for food donation drop-offs. Learn which food items the Pantry is most in need of HERE.

PLUS: Free Tax Preparation is being offered to Wilmington seniors by AARP volunteers at the Reading Municipal Light Department Building (rear), 230 Ash Street, Reading on a walk-in basis, with no appointment needed, Saturday mornings from February 6 through April 9, 2016.
