POLICE LOG for January 30: Ice Fishing on Silver Lake?, Car vs. Pole, Kids Behaving Badly

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are FIVE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, January 30, 2016:

  • Police conducted a well-being check on a three year-old.  Situation checked out OK. (1:32am)
  • A hydrant on Burlington Avenue was reported leaking.  Police notified the Water Department. (7:17am)
  • Wilmington Fire Chief McClellan reported people were on the ice at Silver Lake. Police spoke with the individuals who reported the ice was 4 inches think in the area they were fishing.  They were advised to get off the ice. (12:35pm)
  • Employee at Heffron Materials on Salem Street reported juveniles were climbing on the sand piles and playing on the conveyor belts.  Police advised the juveniles and drove them back to their car. (2:29pm)
  • A black 2001 Accura struck a pole on Chestnut Street.  Airbag deployed. Driver refused hospital transport.  Vehicle was towed.  Multiple houses on street lost power.  Police notified RMLD. (10:52pm)
