MALDEN, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is currently accepting nominations for 2016-17 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year.
The Massachusetts Teacher of the Year is open to any K-12 public school teacher.
The online nomination form can be found HERE. Anyone may submit a nomination — students, parents, colleagues, etc. Nominations are due this Friday, January 22, 2016.
The Massachusetts Teacher of the Year will serve a one-year term as a special ambassador for the Commonwealth’s educator profession. Traveling throughout the state and country, the teacher will share ideas and expertise with a wide network of educators and community members. Additionally, the teacher becomes a member of ESE’s Teacher Advisory Cabinet Download PDF Document Download MS WORD Document, providing input and feedback on state policies and resources along with other teachers from across the state.
Also, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is currently accepting nominations for the 2016 National History Teacher of the Year. The online nomination form can be found HERE. Those nominations close on Monday, February 15, 2016.
