OBITUARY: George H. Sheehan, 88

George H. Sheehan, a resident of Reading for 65 years, formerly of Wilmington, died on December 23, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 88 years of age.

George was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1927 the son of William and Florence B. (Carroll) Sheehan. He attended Wilmington schools and then enlisted in the US Army. He served during WW II and was honorably discharged. He worked for several years as a service technician for Sawtelle Brothers in Swampscott which sold golf equipment. He was a member of the Reading VFW Post 685 and the North Reading Moose Lodge 1511. He enjoyed wood working and refinishing furniture.

George was the beloved husband of 65 years to Edith L. (Hadley) Sheehan. Devoted father of Maureen A. Sheehan and her husband the late Joseph LaMonica of Reading and Valerie J. Mullen and her husband Richard of N. Reading. Cherished brother of Frederick Sheehan of Newport NH and the late Raymond F. and William P. Sheehan. Loving grandfather of Keri-Ann and Melissa A. Richards both of Reading, Amanda L. Mullen of Marietta, OH and Scott D. Mullen of N. Reading.

Funeral service and burial are private and there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America 7 Mill Brook Rd. Wilton NH 03086.
