WILMINGTON, MA — Synergy Health Centers is teaming up with One Warm Coat to collect clean, gently used warm coats and dollars to support the coat drive program through February 1, 2016.
Wilmington’s Woodbriar Health Center, located at 90 West Street, will participate in the coat drive. Synergy will also donate $10 for each coat collected to charity.
“As responsible health care providers, we at Synergy believe it is important to give back to the communities where our residents lived for so many years. Forty-five million Americans are currently living in poverty. For these families and individuals, a warm coat is a budget extra they simply cannot afford,” said Dov Newmark, COO of Synergy Health Centers.
Every facility will be in competition with each other to see who can collect the most coats. The winning facility will win a pizza party, and Synergy will give recognition to staff who go above and beyond to make the coat drive a success. The process includes dropping off extra coats, and Synergy Health Centers takes care of the rest. All donated coats will be given to a local agency for distribution to local children and adults in need.
“For more than 20 years, we have been working to provide a warm coat to anyone who needs one. We are so thankful for our many coat drive ambassadors, like Synergy Health Centers, who volunteer their time, resources and energy to help their neighbors in need. Together, we can reach our goal of warming one million people each winter, one community at a time,” said Jennifer Stockard, president and CEO of One Warm Coat.
