Wilmington Man Arrested For Boston Bank Robbery

BOSTON, MA – On Friday, October 9 at 3:10pm, Boston Police officers responded to a radio call for a bank robbery in progress at the Hingham Institution for Savings on Charles Street.

Upon arrival, BPD officers and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force were notified that two male suspects had entered the bank, displayed a black handgun, jumped over the counter, and made away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers received information that the suspects had fled on foot then jumped into a taxi cab. With the assistance of keen witnesses, the District A-1 detectives, and the BPD Hackney Unit, officers were able to locate the taxi in Charlestown in less than 15 minutes.

Officers apprehended and positively identified the two suspects. Recovered from the suspects during the arrest were an undisclosed amount of US currency and what appeared to be a black firearm.

Russell Dinovo (50, Wilmington) and Anthony Pantone (55, Malden) were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery with possible other charges pending. They will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
